History Of Orange:

Orange tree originates in india with some varieties being found in the south east of the country and possibly the island of Ceylon with other some small varieties may have originated in forests of the north esat country of Bangladesh. The varieties of the north east were used as long ago 7000 years ago in traditional dishes. The first time an orange was seen in erope can be traced as a roman empire around the time of the first century when roman traders were in regular contact the Persians and the axum kingdom in present day ethopia whose sailors were known as the monsoon winds with southern india and Ceylon around 1500 B.C till the kingdom collapse around 700 A.D. Brazil is the largest producer of oranges accounting for about half of the world oranges most of which are grown in state of Sao Paulo.

Description Of Orange Essential Oil:

Orange Essential oil applies primarily to the sweet orange (Citrus siensis). Orange trees are evergreen with grayish-brown barks can reach a height of 4-7.5 meters 13ft-26ft.)With the age they may even reach upto 14 metersor 49ft. The branches eventually grows rounded and the trees often forms the shape of hemisphere. Orange flowers are small white and fragrant. The orange contains a number of distinct carpels segments inside. Typically about ten each delimited by a membrane and containing many juice filled vesicles and usually a few seeds. The orange peel which is considered for the extraction of orange essential oils which has many applications from food flavouring to cosmetics.Orange Essential oil can be extracted by steam distillation method or solvent extraction. The main compounds of orange essential oil were D-limonene, mycrene, alpha –pinene, linalool . Alcohols Citronellol Geranion and linalool and aldehyds neral

Limonene is believed to exhibit the following activity as anti-oxidant, stimulant digestive and detoxicant . Beta-myrcene helps as anti-inflammatory, Analgesic and anti-biotic. Geraniol works as anti-septic anti-bacterial and analgesic. Orange Essential oil Blends with Cedarwood atlas oil, Cinnamon oil, Clary sage oil, clove bud oil. Clove oil, coriander oil, frankincense oil, geranium oil, jasmine oil, lavender oil, nutmeg oil, rose- mary oil, and also with other citrus oils.

The Constituents of Orange Essential oil are Alpha-pinene, Sabinene, myrcene, limonene, linalool, citronellal, neral and geranoil.
